Besides focusing on customer satisfaction, GRUMA is concerned about the well-being of society and the environment. GRUMA is involved in several projects that help people with limited financial resources in Mexico. The company does not only donate funds and products, but its employees volunteer their time and energy in critical situations. After the earthquake in Oaxaca and during the flooding in central Mexico, Gimsa established "tortilla field production" to provide food for the victims. During these critical events, Gimsa provided the victims with free corn flour, enriched with soy proteins and other nutrients. The company also provides these products at cost for nutritional programs sponsored by the government and nongovernmental organizations.

The Cerralvo Board, which was founded in 1986, carries out these type of projects for the community's well being.

The Board for Educational and Assistance Development of Cerralvo A.B.P. was created on March 10, 1986. Since then, its mission has been to collaborate with the authorities and promote their contribution toward solving Education, Health and Social Assistance, Sports and community development problems.

We also try to act as an effective vehicle to rapidly and directly channel this assistance from citizens and institutions to solve problems of the most needy communities

During these years of work, the activities in Cerralvo and other regions in the south of the state of Nuevo Leon have been concentrated in three main areas: education and sports development, strengthening the municipal infrastructure and several community development programs.
